The Winterhawk Team
Dave is WinterHawk’s Bristol based instructor and is also our gadget Guru. When not teaching, he doubles as a computer specialist with a leading UK company.
Mike is WinterHawk’s Senior instructor. He has a vast hands-on knowledge of advanced First aid gained with the Emergency Services, and delivered in the community. He feels passionate about exactly how First Aid should be taught to all ages, whereby everyone that attends a WinterHawk course should not only have a fun learning environment, but also feel fully confident to delivering First aid when called upon to do so.
Alan is based in Carmarthen and is also a practising Neuro-Muscular Therapist and our resident Web Designer. Any faults in this website are all down to him. He does not teach many courses himself these days, but can usually be found Assisting Mike at one of his course when allowed.
Key information
Course Scheduling
Our courses are run with a minimum of 4 participants to a maximum of 8. This not only creates a more relaxed learning environment, it also allows the participants to learn from each other.
For groups of 4 or more participants, we will happily restrict the course to just your group. Weekend courses are also available. You will need to contact us for more information on this option.
Group Bookings
If you require a group booking (6 or more participants), we are able to offer a number of pricing structures. These include fixed-price rather than per-participant courses, annual service contracts and package-prices. If you are booking a group, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Course Booking
Courses can be booked in several ways. You can visit us and book your course in person, make a telephone booking or even book by email. Participants are required to have completed and returned a pre-course questionnaire, at least 7 days prior to the start of the course. This allows the participants to fully understand the course content in advance and ensures that our participants get the most out of the training process.
We therefore require a deposit of 30% of the course fee when you book. This enables us to provide you with the necessary training materials and reserve your place on the course. Payment can be by cash, cheque, or bank transfer. The balance is payable 5 working days prior to the course commencement. The deposit is not refundable but should you cancel prior to the start of the course, nothing further will be payable. If you need to postpone or reschedule your course, this can be done at any time prior to the start of your course. Should this be necessary, a £30 administration fee is payable.
Course Location Options
Our courses are either conducted at your place of work or at one of our training venues. From business premises to village halls, from schools to homes, provided that the intended location meets the course requirements in terms of facilities, layout and accommodation, we are happy to come to you. For most courses with groups of four and over, there is no extra charge for this option.
The ability to provide First Aid training in the same location that it will usually be used can provide substantially enhanced realism and greatly increase the value derived from the course.
